What we keep
Your email address, so you can sign in.
What you put in about your boat: equipment, maintenance, to-dos, shopping, vendors, documents, receipts and photos you upload, and your chat conversations with First Mate.
Basic technical logs (for example, errors and request timing) so we can keep the service running.
How we use it
To run First Mate for you: answer your questions, keep your boat's record, and show it to the crew you invite.
We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
First Mate runs on third-party infrastructure: hosting, a database and file storage, an email delivery service for sign-in links, and AI model providers that process your chat messages to produce answers.
If you add your own AI provider key in Settings, chat requests go to that provider under your key.
If you connect an outside AI agent to your boat, it can read and change what you grant it until you revoke it.
Your choices
You can export your boat's data from Settings at any time.
You can ask us to delete your account and your boat's data. A dedicated contact address will be listed here before this page is final; until then, contact the First Mate team directly.
